Branding

As a member of Western Colorado University’s Branding Committee, I collaborate with departments and groups across campus to ensure our brand is communicated consistently and effectively. I’m passionate about telling a brand’s story, not just visually, but in the systems, policies, and resources that allow it to thrive across every touchpoint. My work focuses on building clarity, cohesion, and accessibility so that Western’s identity is strong and unified, no matter the channel.

Social Media Policy

The Challenge:
Western had hundreds of affiliated social media accounts, many of which were inactive, duplicated, or inconsistent with brand standards. This made it difficult for prospective students and the campus community to find official accounts, and it weakened our brand presence online.

My Role:

  • Led the creation of a comprehensive social media policy to establish clear expectations and guidelines.

  • Developed a registration system for all official university accounts, ensuring accountability and oversight.

  • Built a directory of accounts so audiences could easily find the right pages.

  • Collaborated with the social media strategist to create best practices resources for departments and student groups, covering tone, branding, accessibility, and posting strategy.

The Impact:

  • Streamlined and centralized Western’s social media presence.

  • Improved brand consistency across dozens of platforms and accounts.

  • Empowered individual departments with the tools and resources they need to manage accounts effectively while maintaining university-wide standards.
